Agriculture secretary cancels $600K grant
for study on menstrual cycles in transgender men.
The Southern University Agricultural & Mechanical College in Louisiana was the recipient of the grant, according to a database on USAspending.gov.
You know, some senator or representative had to have submitted the request for that appropriation in the omnibus budget. You know the spending bill that is only read to make sure your spending request is there.
Had I wanted to slip some spending request thru so that the university would get the money and split it with me, I would have submitted a request for something that had a chance to slip by an auditor.

Re: Agriculture secretary cancels $600K grant
I get that DOGE etc. is going about this with a shotgun not a scalpel, but part of that is due to the insane level of waste and corruption in the government budget.
No, a few hundred million here and there won't change the overall debt much, but it sure would change the lives of millions of Americans who would be able to keep their own money and improve their lives and that of their families and children.
To me the real insult is the response that "it's not that much money, just XX million". Really? Someone walks up to your front door with a million dollars in a bag and you would send them away b/c it's not much money?
The biggest thing people forget: NONE Of it is the government's money. It's the People's money, taken from them by force on the premise it will be used for their benefit. A lot of it, I presume most or event he vast majority is, but so much isn't that it could make a real difference in the bottom line of this nation and millions of Americans.People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

My econ teacher asked the class how you get to a trillion. They said it was not easy, but the easiest way is to collect enough hundreds.

Pelosi's legislation was about 1,000 pagers long and we all remember the rep asking how he would know what was in it , and she said you had to vote for it to find out what was in the bill.

When a business does that they get prosecuted for fraud. Not in Washington.
I despise the entire system of massive bills with even more massive delegation to an unelected bureaucracy. That was not the way the system was supposed to work. Congress has basically shirked their responsibility to be the representatives of the People, which was a natural limit on government as no one could possibly read those bills or produce that many regulations in Congress.People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. Conservatives should watch tonight's replay of the Larry Kudlow show where he interviews Elan Musk. Progressives should stay away from the program. Musk was very straight forward about the fraudulent spending that has been happening and the source of the fraudulent spending can be attributed to elected officials.
