It was a bit chilly out and had planned to do some swimwear shots but it had started to sprinkle. She wasn't really experienced but took direction pretty well. You're right about the legs and the rest was model worthy as well, but a lot of repetitive expression and posing. All in all, it went pretty good. I think we'll shoot again soon.

Nope, but after I did a search I can see a resemblance. Thanks, Pap, I think I'm more talented at covering up my mistakes. I had all sorts of problems with lighting on this shoot, probably because I was out of practice and hadn't tinkered with the camera in months. This shoot seems to be getting some exposure in the surrounding modeling community and I'm getting interest expressed from a few sources again so I hope I'll be honing my skills again soon. This one wants to shoot again within a week weather permitting. Figures things are warming up now that the weather is getting cold.

I love this one. A lot of emotion in this picture.

This is one of her best pictures though if I may offer a slight critique. The airbrushing is a bit heavy handed, its likely a personal taste thing. The compositions and what not though is QUITE good. Excellent lighting, framing, etc. I say this as if I'm somehow good at this. I know what looks good but that's the easy part. I don't take pictures of ANYONE well, let alone as good as you. My friends refuse to let me take their pics at parties because I have a knack for making them look their absolute worst. I'm the antithesis of a good people photographer. Nature and city scapes on the other hand I love doing though I just use my cellphone. I often get good enough results from it though.

I agree with you from a pure photography POV. I offered a less edited version to her and she complained that it made her legs look like they had cellulite. Most of the models I work with aren't really models in the commercial sense, but want the experience and something to show for it. Here's a less edited version: Not a huge difference, but I defer unless I feel strongly about a particular effort.

Here's a B&W I'd done along the same line as the one above. I was going for more emotion, as though she'd either been stood up or abandoned: DPP_11821.jpg This model does quite well at car and bike shows as well as bikini modeling but probably can't relate to being stood up.

Thanks, suncat. She was a pleasure to shoot. She ran track for NC State, hurdles I think, and her body was in fantastic shape. Great eyes and lips, though had suffered from acne, I assume, as a teen, so I had some post work to do. We shot at her house which she shared with her boyfriend who made himself scarce for the most part in other rooms.
