Mammoth Cave Tips?
I haven’t been in over 50 years. Obviously a lot has changed other than the caves themselves. Any advice on tours and things that should be seen I’d appreciate any input.
We were going to stay in a teepee room at the Wigwam hotel but it’s booked when we’re going. As it is we’ll be staying close to cave city in a ABNB tiny house.

Mammoth Cave Tips?
It's probably been about that long since I've been. I pass it often and always say I'd like to go back.
Seems like there were a couple of choices of which tour to take, but I don't even remember that for sure. Surely somebody here has been there more recently, like maybe this Century lol.

Re: Mammoth Cave Tips?
We went a few year ago and took the kids and grand-kids.
It was awesome, except Grammy does not like heights and there is a bridge and some stairs that you have to navigate.
Fat Man's misery was a treat...
I couldn't tell you how to dress because if I took my sweatshirt off, I got too cold. If i put it back on, I sweated like a mule.
There used to be a Restaurant called the Watermill around exit 61 if memory serves me correctly. Food used to be delicious, post-COVID not so much. Eat there at your own risk...
But for the scope of the cave, the geological formations and the history; it is hard to beat.
When we went, we had a guide who was up in his 70's and he did the tour at least twice a day. Man was super-human. And a treasure...
Enjoy it. It will bring back memories and you will more than likely spot something new or forgotten...One of the hardest things in life is having words in your heart that you can't utter.

Re: Mammoth Cave Tips?
No tips. Sorry. I liked the park itself as much as the Cave.
Feeling a bit nostalgic today and would say I drove Kentucky 70 with my son west across Kentucky heading to Mortons Gap from Mammoth Cave. It was a time machine back to blue highways travel. And if we had to bump onto an even smaller road and then US 62 to KY831 well, the only thing missing was Adams Store.
Everyone else would be on the WKY Pkwy of course.
