Massie's current term should be his last

He should never be elected to represent Kentucky voters again.

dan I do not often disagree with you but I do here. Not that it matters anymore because I live in Virginia.

I think Massie is a pricipled leader. HE is very upfront with his positions. He is not a party follower or a politician follower. he will vote his principles.

Your opinion is valuable, and one that I respect, and I agree that he does just as you said and I also respect the fact that he does. However I completely disagree with his action of voting against the party on the budget bill, and for that reason alone, I want to see him gone. If I understood his stated reason correctly, he voted against the entire bill just because he disagreed with 2 different issues in the bill. I can not support him for risking blowing the entire bill out of the water, that benefits so many people just because he did bot like 2 portions of it.

i'm way more hawkish that Massie on the national debt. So I'm okay with him. Way more. At some point the reckoning is coming. We should have a softer landing than we are going to get.

I am a hawk as well, and I think that the current strategy will be as successful as were the Regan, Clinton, and Trump's first successful financial recovery. If I wind up being wrong, then there are a small group of extremely smart men that are going to be wrong along with me. I am hoping for the best, and for cooperation from reasonable trading partners.

As I am learning more about the limitations on reconciliation bills and recission bills I have a bit more informed position.

So, the BBB is a reconciliation bill can only effect mandatory spending and income and can be generated in the legislature. That limits where cuts can come from. And it only requires a majority of votes to pass both of the sides of the legislature. A Reconciliation bill cannot touch discretionary spending which is what much of the DOGE findings were from an expense standpoing.

So, a Recission budget cannot be generated in the legislature. It has to come from the Executive Branch saying they have expenses and programs they do not need to fund any longer. IT can only be in the area of discretionary spending. Pretty much all of the DOGE funding cuts (except alleged medicaid fraud) and it appears the President will start sending these to congress this coming Monday.

My problem with the BBB is a math problem. I believe in lower taxes. We do not have an income problem in this country, we have a spending problem. I do not favor eliminating tax on tips. Why does a server deserve not to have to pay income taxes when the dishwasher has to pay taxes? I heard one barber offering free haircuts and was working for tips... That is a system ripe for manipulation.

Also, for every dollor of cut taxes you have to grow american actual taxpayer income by 5 dollars. Why? Because the average american worker who pays actually pays taxes incurs a 20% federal income tax rate. So to generate the same tax revenue as the cut you have to increase wages by that ratio. That is not going to happen by this bill.

So, to me, MAssie was right. I am surprised the Freedom Caucus folded the way it did and made me very upset with Chip Roy.

If the bill does not pass then the previous Trump tax reduction of about 5 billion dollars which has been affection our tax bills will automatically cease and that 5 billion dollars will automatically take effect and we begin paying those taxes.

I agree. But we can predict with almost certainty the Senate will not pass this bill as presented. The Devil is going to be in the details once the Senate and House Leaders go into the reconciliation process. We already know the increased debt limit this Bill provides is a non-starter in the Senate.

I take back any good thing I ever said about Thomas Massie. We can roast Hegseth for using 'boys" instead of "pilots" or not, but out there this morning undermining and dismissing their contribution is unacceptable to me.

That first sentence should be Massie's first sentence, even if the rest is him ignoring the threat of nuclear Pearl Harbor.

Sen. Steve Daines: “Thank you President Trump and the men and women of our armed forces. America, Israel and the rest of the world are safer tonight as a result of your bravery, courage and unrivaled skill. Iran is the world’s largest state sponsor of terror, has killed hundreds of U.S. service members, attempted to assassinate President Trump, and calls the United States ‘big Satan’ and Israel ‘little Satan.’ Stopping Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons is a major step toward achieving peace.”

Kentucky should be embarrassed to have Paul, Massie, McConnell, and Beshear representing our great state.

I like Paul. He is very polarizing though. Most either love him, or hate him. He has long been on the cut wasteful spending bandwagon
    In your face, Harold!
