Are we safer now?
IMO, yep
Limiting the Iranian threat. Note it's not eliminated. I have no doubt they will continue their quest for nuclear weaponary, likely in the form of dirty bombs, but their ability to produce nuclear ICBMs on their own is greatly diminished
We re-established ourselves as a nation that will take action if need be. I like that US gave Iran an out, one they failed to take. Years of unbacked actions led them to believe the US was going to follow the same old doctrine of having red lines but taking no action.
Third, hope this leads to strife and regime change in Iran by their citizens. The US need to be no part of that. To me, that is the line the USA should not cross.
Finally, this should bring the Isreal Hummas situation to a close. Hopefully Iran ceases their backing, and hummas retreats back into a holeIn your face, Harold!

Re: Are we safer now?
I should add that also the reestablishemen of our military as an actual competent force. After the last few incidents, the US military was not looking good. The disastrous Afgan withdrawal was a total embarrassment. We literally left billions in weapons, lost lives and came off as incompetent oafs. Heck, even when we took out Bin Laden, we still managed to lose a helicopter. Let's not talk about Benghazi or the drone attack that mistook children for terrorists. This was a precision attack, no loss of US life, completely secure and appears to have gone off without a hiccup. So much for Pete Hegseth not being qualified!

Re: Are we safer now?
Thanks doc. I believe that we are safer in the future for taking out Iran's nuclear capability. I believe a 21st century Iran could become a stabilizing force in the modern muslim world. I believe an 9th century Iran with a nuclear weapon is the most dangerous threat we have.
In the short term, our military bases near Iran will be attacked. And, to the 20 million invaders over the open border these last four years, our country will be subject to attack by some those invaders. Some of whom we will find have been succored and supported by USAID and other tax paid NGOs.
