In your face, Harold!
I heard an early morning news blurb saying that the congestion in his lungs had cleared up.

88 year old with double pneumonia. Tough situation, but prayers for his recovery.
U really think players are going to duke without being paid over Kentucky?--Gilbert Arenas, 9/12/19
And when it's time to select a new Pope, PLEASE DO NOT give us another liberal Jesuit! Dominican or Franciscan only please!
Prayers for his recovery. Double pneumonia at 88 years of age is bad news for anyone.

That is good news.
This old baptist boy from Kentucky still has him in my prayers.
One of the hardest things in life is having words in your heart that you can't utter.
I'm not Catholic, but he has impressed me as being a very good Pontiff, one of the more consistently thoughtful it would seem. I hope he serves many more years.
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.
Here is where I part ways with you, CBBN. This Pope has been a screaming liberal and been going against traditional Catholic doctrine in many ways. Why? Because he's a Jesuit, whose Order is known to be extreme left-wing since the beginnings of their Order in the Church.
Give me a traditional conservative Dominican or Franciscan priest as Pope any day. The Jesuits are just as bad, if not worse than leftist American Democrats. Same-same! JMHO.

Oh, I don't follow it closely enough to have a valid opinion, I freely admit it. I'm not Catholic, he seems sincere, and yes I have disagreed with some of his views (the few I follow), but other Popes seem as much political as anything else.
of course historically it was far worse, to the point of the position being bought at one time.

Pope John Paul II is my favorite, and was the best Pope in my lifetime as well. And the Church made huge strides at becoming more modern and contemporary during his Papacy.

Based on a post from Father Jim today the Holy Father seems to have had a setback today. Apparently, he had a bronchial spasm. It led to a vomiting episode with Inhalation. it led to a deteriorating respiratory condition. Not a good situation.

I saw on the news this morning, the Pope is back at home resting comfortably. Not surprised with 1.1 billion people on the prayer wagon.(minus those with differences of opinions with the Pope)

It will take some time for him to recover. I read where his doctors said he'll need two months of rest before he should be active again. My FIL is a very healthy, active nearly 94-year old (still drives, lives by himself, gardens, etc.). But he was in the hospital for a few days a couple of months ago and it took weeks and weeks to recover (then went back in the hospital recently, but that's another story). I would think being in the hospital for that serious of illness for that long would take a large toll and a long time to recover for sure.
Passed this morning, day after Easter.

R.I.P. Pope Francis! And may God our Heavenly Father welcome you into Paradise with open arms! Amen!

It’s a sad day. He was a good one.
