Break in the action, any hurricane updates? I hope everyone is safe. My grandson is in Port Richey, FL. I worry.

Looks like it jigged a bit toward Port Richey, Blueboss, but hopefully not the very worst of it. They all prepare well for these things, so I'm sure they'll be OK, but I'll say a little prayer for them anyway!
Here's radar from Port Richey. Brother in law and nephew and their families live in Tampa, and said windy, rain, but they still had power. IMG_20240926_195530.jpg
Thank you!! I love me some Cartwright family prayers… they just checked in with me. So far so good, they’re on the backside now and still have power. They’re getting better at these things.. for me and my experience when I lived down there was always the aftermath, and not the storm itself. I did see a stop sign, pole and all fly down my street during David back in the day.

Not to minimize the power of this storm, but the weather channel is just short of using “biblical devastation” in their reporting.

Now I’m worried about the backside surge…

Helene is moving along pretty quickly, dumping heavy rain all along the way. Up here in the Lou area we’ll likely get a couple of inches by the time it fizzles out.
Hope everyone one is safe, and avoids property damage as it tracks north.

Brother-in-law in Tampa had some of his neighbor's tree limbs and such blown into his yard. Said he picked up two big bags of it this morning. Other than that, no issues. Did not lose power.
I know not everyone is that fortunate, and I've already heard 8 died, millions without power, and immense damage in Taylor County, and it could have been worse but for the fact the eye made landfall in a sparsely populated area.
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.
My grandson and his mother in Port Richey had some flooding. Not horrible but still a nuisance..7” through out. They also list power.

2” since midnight in Louisville with another 1 1/2 to 2” forecast before it quits tomorrow night. We’ve been pretty lucky though.
We do this not because it is easy, but because we thought it would be easy.
…and the clean up begins. At least they’re safe.

My wife said it hurt my daughter’s feelings that every time she practiced piano I would turn away.
She was right. It was time I faced the music.
I’m terrified of elevators, and I’m taking steps to avoid them

I was frying some Canadian bacon this morning and it kept curling in the pan.
So I took away the little brooms.

Here’s another classic from my grandson…

A: granpaw

Open up! It’s the police!
Prove it.
How?
Sing Roxanne.
Another low pressure system in the gulf… may not develop into a cane, but looks to dump a bunch of water on areas still reeling.

Pray for me as I am going into the heart of enemy territory.
I "won" two tickets to the UofL / SMU game and while I could have declined them, it is kind of an appreciation for going above & beyond at my job and I saw it as an opportunity to go with my son-in-law who is a devoted fan of UofL.
Of course i will be rocking my UK polo. It should be an absolutely gorgeous day for some football, just have to have S-I-L drop me off at a full service carwash afterwards.![]()

Good luck, Mr. Cartwright.

It should be a good, close game Pappy.
