PBS has new seasons of Finding Your Roots (a celebrity genealogy show) and All Creatures Great and Small that started last week. Those are 2 of our favorites.

I tried watching Asteroid City last night. It put me to sleep and when I woke up I tried some more. Great cast, great acting, Terrible movie.

Northern Exposure is now available on Prime. Like WKRP, it was tied up for a number of years with music rights issues, but this article says they have "about 80%" of the music in the original series:

Told my wife last night that I thought we should start watching it. I think we're the last two who haven't seen it now .

Signed up for something and got a free month of Paramount+, so rewatching 1883. Dang, that's a good miniseries. Probably my favorite, next to Band of Brothers.

It ebbs and flows a little bit toward the end, but I watched the whole series and thought it was really good.

I’m enjoying it minus the soap opera’ie stuff.

My wife made me binge “one day” on Netflix and I’m gonna be honest, it’s a chick flick but the acting is just superb and way better than many Netflix shows I’ve watched. It does get very heavy but really takes you through the ups and downs of life and the depths and shallows that we can reside in. It’s worth a watch, 14 episodes. Got me thinking about all that I took for granted early in my life. Keep in mind I’m a struggling a bit with the idea of my last one leaving the house so I may be a bit beside myself these days.

Lately I've gone down the YouTube rabbit hole and watching a bunch of Sovereign Citizens getting their butts handed to them by judges. Complete waste of time and I don't know why they amuse me, but they do.

I watch them with both the judges and the police officers who stop them--who, by the way, exhibit WAY more patience than I'd ever be able to exert!

The Mayor of Kingstown is worth a look. Two seasons with a third coming out in June.

^ Paramount+ has had some good series: Mayor of Kingstown, 1883, Tulsa King to name a few.

Anybody ventured into watching the Netflix number 1 show right now, baby reindeer. Pretty hard to stomach around episodes 4/5 or so but a very eye opening look into abuse and its effects on people and the cycle it creates. It’s very well done and the main character is playing himself.

^We tend to get Netflix for a month when the shows we like have new seasons. We'll watch it until we exhaust all that, then we cancel again.

It would be hard for me to watch a show that focuses on abuse--do you think it's worth a watch?

In streaming news, Disney and Warner Bros. are going to launch a streaming serving this summer that combines Max, Hulu and Disney+:

It was entertaining and funny, then got dark and depressing but was very well done. First few episodes kept me watching, then a few I wanted to turn off, then the last one or two were really amazing in pulling together the bigger theme of what was going on and how the depth of these issues in society. I’d definitely recommend it for those of us that have been fortunate enough not to live it.

The Battlestar Galactica reboot (miniseries and series) had been off TV and streaming for awhile, but it's now all streaming on Prime. Love the miniseries and the first 2 seasons. After that they lost focus but it was still good TV.

Anyone else seen the "Beyond The Battlefield" series on the History Channel. Only 2 episodes. watched it on a Trans Atlantic Flight yesterday. Not sure if there will be more but I enjoyed learning about Green Beret and history of them and same with Marine Air.

A Man In Full..Netflix, 3 episodes in, pretty good. It’s a limited series, I think I’m going to be disappointed when it’s over.

Starring Jeff Daniels, he’s very good at his craft.

Edit: it was a 6 episode series. Knowing it was only 6 episodes as it it got closer to the 6th and final episode I was thinking/wondering how they were going to wrap up all that was going on with the different story lines… well, they did.

Mrs. BEvans and I are currently watching "Detectorists." It's a British comedy about a small group of metal detector enthusiasts in an English village.

I read something this week where the person compared it to Ted Lasso, so we decided to give it a go and are really enjoying it so far. The first 3 seasons are on the Roku Channel.

If you're up for some D-Day TV, remember that Band of Brothers is available on Netflix or Max. Episode 2 is "Day of Days."

I just saw that it was on Netflix and remember that this is the series I most wanted to watch on my DroidTV app, but it was deleted. I appreciate the reminder--that's something I know I will enjoy.

Just watched The Night Manager on Prime. Not bad; looking forward to season 2.
We do this not because it is easy, but because we thought it would be easy.

    Anybody know this actor?

My wife was watching an old Law and Order episode, and just struck by his teeth being pretty dingy, and we were wondering if that was by design, or if that's just the actor.

Played somebody in a medical lab, probably coroner's office, asked to do a toxicology report. Small role.
