Re: Richie Havens RIP
This is so sad. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Richie. He couldn't have been a finer gentleman. I have followed his career since 1964. I saw him perform one time on Derby Eve at the Phoenix Hill Tavern in Louisville. He played the rooftop that night. About midnight the temp dropped into the low thirties and it started to snow. There couldn't have been more than 20 people at the end. He wouldn't quit until 2 am. He was the consumate professional. When I met him in the 90's in birmingham, we shared a good laugh over a beverage reliving that night. I saw him before Woodstock and about four other times after. His autographed CD is my lasting treasure.

One of the best rhythm guitarists and cover artists of all time. His rendition of Here Comes The Sun was/is outstanding.

As most of us remember (audio only)
Cool as a rule, but sometimes bad is bad.
