Re: General COVID vaccination thread
Best of luck to her Pappy. I certainly hope that her after affects are no more than the ones I had which were almost imperceptible.

Got a praise report for you good folks. At 22 hours after her second vaccination she is only experiencing discomfort in her arm and deltoid muscle. She still is avoiding making sausage gravy and biscuits just to be on the safe side.

Re: General COVID vaccination thread
Here in Montana anyone who wants a shot can get one, many times no appointment needed. Yesterday local media, social and otherwise, was covered with pleas to come down and get a shot. The waiting lists are almost empty.
Once the covid shot hits 125% of flu shot popularity, I think demand will begin to roll off.

Re: General COVID vaccination thread
That's the next big problem, getting more people to take it. I keep getting texts and emails about openings of centers in Kentucky. I presume we really won't need nearly that many after the next few weeks as the problem will turn to getting people in the doors.
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

Re: General COVID vaccination thread
Checking in from Sulphur Springs, Tennessee and other than arm soreness Grammy is not exhibiting any adverse effects, other than the fact she is still adhering to the no sausage gravy and biscuits. Praise God and then some...and by the way, Dairy Queen couldn't hold a light for my Bride. Have you throwing rocks at every DQ you go past...

Momma still could make me up the best drop biscuits and super gravy if I push for it.
Donna can dish up some too, but she only makes the plain white gravy light on salt and peppered.
But she usually just says..run to Dairy Queen for breakfast. they make both plain (chicken) gravy and sausage gravy at our local DQ.
She eats and cooks kosher by the way.

Back when I was growing up, there were two different kinds, Country was for the Flat and Scruggs and Loretta Lynn variety, and the western was for Red Stegal, Tex Ritter, Gene Autry, Riders in the Sky, etc.

Also, vaccine failures in patients who have undergone immunology cancer treatment.

Bob Wills, king of Western Swing music, but I never thought of that as western music. Cowboy music was western for me.

Re: General COVID vaccination thread
I got to see Tex Ritter here in Radcliff many, many years ago.
I would guess 1965 or 66.
He was quite the figure and still a hero to many of that generation.

Re: General COVID vaccination thread
My wife and I have both shots (Moderna) and although she had a low grade fever and aches and pains for a couple days, everything was fine after that.

Re: General COVID vaccination thread
Covid shot and a beer, just to clarify, but cute, eh? It’s moved into the “hard sell” stage. Now you hear people aren’t coming back for #2. I hear about 80% resistance from under 30s age group. Like a flu shot, the increased availability will be pushing on a rope. Manufacturers will switch to overseas.
I got J&J. Doesn’t really work with rituximab tho.

Re: General COVID vaccination thread
Everyone who works for me will be getting it, most are done, 2 more are between 1 and 2 now.
But yes it's going to dwindle fast, which is why opening up more and more centers really wasn't the priority. I fear stopping J&J as was done made a hard job even harder.People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

Second round of Pfizer at 9:15 this morning and so far the arm is not even sore and I have strapped on the feedbag of leftover meatloaf and green beans season with salt pork. Side order of broccoli so I can say it is healthy...
