Theater room inputI'm finishing my own basement that should be done sometime around the year 2525 if man is still alive..... But I am at a point where I need to make a decision. Which would you prefer?

Option 1: 2 couches, one in front of the other with one elevated stadium style seating.

 or

Option 2: One of the modular sectional couch deals that you can configure however you wish? I'm not exactly sure what those are called.

I need to decide soon if I need to build the elevated part for the stadium seating. Option 1 is additional work with perhaps an odd step up. Option 2 seems to be a lot more money.

12-30-2015, 10:15 PM #3What is the size and shape of the room? I'd do stadium seating unless it is wide, and then I'd go sectional couching. Or you could do recliners. That's what "the cool kids" are doing these days.

 16x25

The room would be narrow vs wide. The back of the back couch would be about 22 ft from the screen wall. If I do 2 couches they will be the standard couches that recline.

Pedro is probably right that I would 2nd guess myself. But something about the sectional is suddenly appealing.

FWIW i have a blue leather sectional media room couch setup in inventory. Not sure when it will go to auction, but I have sold a few of them and prefer that setup. i am no big media room guy but i've been in a few before we take them to auction, prefer sectional layouts.People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

Re: Theater room inputKing, mine will definitely be closer to the redneck home theater

In all seriousness, it will be a decent room. It will be plain but decent. Just a couch or two and a screen. Carpet squares, drop ceiling, and probably crown molding.
