I don't know them but sounds like they're pretty good to get a road trip like that. Doubt I'll get done with work in time to go but if we get near the place or even get out in downtown I'll text and see what you're up to.
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

They are outstanding. The two primary writers are from North Alabama so the song resonate with me having come from a small town in KY. None of the guys father was the bass player in the original Muscle Shoals rhythm section that backed so many classic songs.
Here is there entry at Allmusic.com:

And while seeing them was a big part of the trip, also going to hang with some friends and get some golf in. We should be in Lex at some point prior to the show so hit me up if you are out.

I love DBT and wish I was there in Lex to see them. I'm totally into the Muscle Shoals music scene. I am glad they are attempting to bring back the studios there, even if it is only for historical purposes. We'll have to catch them in the HAM or Ttown sometime. They play both places from time to time.

Would love that, Mick. Have you seen/heard St Paul and the Broken Bones? Fantastic. Saw them open for Alabama Shakes in T-town on Dec.

...and the road goes on forever
“Before I leave I’d like to see our politics begin to return to the purposes and practices that distinguish our history from the history of other nations,
“I would like to see us recover our sense that we are more alike than different. We are citizens of a republic made of shared ideals forged in a new world to replace the tribal enmities that tormented the old one. Even in times of political turmoil such as these, we share that awesome heritage and the responsibility to embrace it.”

As expected here I am still at work, but did go by there much earlier and the crowd was already forming. Ought to be a big show. Have fun!

Mick, and others, here is a link to a show Patterson, Cooley, and Jason Isbell played on Sunday night in Muscle Shoals. It's acoustic and the recording is almost perfect.
