Re: Last Post Wins
I've entered the stage of Christmas preparations where the Christmas songs are basically trolling me. "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year" takes on a different feeling when you're 2 weeks out and have virtually all presents to buy, stuff to cook, etc.

All's well in Jackson Mississippi today. And in New Orleans Louisiana, Birmingham Alabama, Cincinnati Ohio, and West Monroe Louisiana.

I don't have any family on the coast right now who have reported in. Now that I think of it, though, I suspect we have Virginia and Tampa covered too.

Christmas music is okay after Thanksgiving. Before then I throw pebbles at people I hear singing or whistling Christmas tunes. I call them jingle bell rocks.

Re: Last Post Wins
About next 4th of July I know some people who are getting a regular barrage of mail order Xmas albums, etc. Maybe I can get them to play on the website.....
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

47 and rain today. Gotta love the Ohio Valley weather... maybe we’ll lucky and we can get down to 35 and rain.

I have completely lost my voice. I know just Grammy's prayers finally being answered.
Have I mentioned that my job involves talking on the phone about 75-80% of the day?

Yep, tech support for large machines in the automotive industry.
Normally, I have a voice like a foghorn, but it is reduced to a whisper.
I think it is caused by PND. Even when I cough I sound like I am whispering; no vocal tone at all.
Of course my friends at work are having a field day with this. You want to work for me this afternoon or weekend; if you object just speak up! Want to do my service call entry? If not just say so...
But one day soon it will reappear and Lord, help them...One of the hardest things in life is having words in your heart that you can't utter.

Sorry, Darrell. I don't have insomnia like you and others, but I'm finding it's hard to sleep past 5:30 or so. Thinking about trying melatonin.

I was told melatonin is produced naturally in your body, and if you take melatonin supplements it “could” inhibit your body’s ability to produce it naturally causing adverse affects after prolonged use.
Of course I’m not a Dr nor do I play one on television, but as I suggested in the insomnia thread, go see a hippie chick at your local Rainbow Blossom health food store. I’m taking valarian, with skull cap root capsules. I’ve not had any adverse affects, one cap about a half hour before I go to bed. I have to say I’ve been sleeping a lot better.

Re: Last Post Wins
Actually, my insomnia has mostly gotten better to the point where it's similar to that. I'd rather sleep longer, but if I can sleep 5-6 hours mostly uninterrupted (I'm waking up, but going back to sleep, which has not been common for me), I'll be mostly content.
I'm wondering if I went to bed at 10pm if I'd still sleep til 5:30. I may try that soon. I don't think so, but it might be worth a try.

Re: Last Post Wins
I usually can go to sleep easily--it's having the discipline to actually try to sleep and not watch 1 more show, mess around with my phone, etc. As with most things worthwhile in life, having the discipline to do it regularly is key.

What gives?!? We got a dusting of snow last night. How dare the snow disrupt our usual 35 and rain....

I don’t need the calories but a Guineas draft is sure good to help pass the time while you’re waiting for your carry out order.

58 and mostly cloudy now on Christmas in Louisville. I’d be okay with 58 and mostly cloudy pretty much every day.
