Has this phenomenon hit your neck of the woods?
It seems to be a female thing but it's where every sentence sounds like a question where their voice gets higher at the end but there are other nuances to it. Mainly teenagers and young adults but I've seen some 30-somethings do it as well. I find it rather annoying but it seems to be everywhere.
Cool as a rule, but sometimes bad is bad.

I'm surrounded by it at work actually. I believe it be their (younger) insecurity on whatever the subject may be. They are looking for confirmation of their thoughts by someone else. Instead of standing up and speaking their mind.

I think it may have originated in California.
