  1. One small good thing about working/teaching from home...

I'm still waiting to find out.
  2. Aww. Elderly mayor of Clanton died of Covid-19 today

84, definitely a high risk patient and not surprising he couldn't beat it. Was transferred to St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham last week. Thought he was doing better early this week, then...
  3. Random thoughts for audio/video livestream on location?

    Very good idea.
  4. Time for a new truck battery, they must not make them like they used to

I got an email on that the other day and meant to mention it. That's where I get all of mine. You can always find a 20 or 25% off coupon online, too. I'll be getting a diehard in the next week or so...
  5. One small good thing about working/teaching from home...

When a student stands you up for a scheduled conference, since you're doing it via videoconference, you can read Kentucky Sports Report while you wait...

All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)

I started binge watching The Good Wife a couple of months ago. I thought it was really good until a main character died. Since then, it has been meh. Contemplating abandoning it in Season 6 before...
  8. Random thoughts for audio/video livestream on location?

Would the videographer do both live streaming and the regular videography as well? It certainly won't hurt to ask, I guess. I know my daughter's primary concern will be on her once in a lifetime...
  9. Random thoughts for audio/video livestream on location?

That's a good thought, Kingcat. I don't know. It's a downtown church in Nashville, but if they live stream services, maybe I could talk to them about it.

My in-laws won't be the only ones not...
  10. Random thoughts for audio/video livestream on location?

    I love this idea.

I have a tripod adapter for my phone (that's what I used when I lived streamed the soccer games) but your idea is better. Great suggestion.
  11. Random thoughts for audio/video livestream on location?

Nah, if I did it, I'd stick it in a corner before anything starts. I wouldn't care that it had an hour or whatever of garbage beforehand. Missing any of it isn't part of that equation.
  12. Random thoughts for audio/video livestream on location?

With my wife's cousin dying of Covid-19 last week, it really hit home, and my in-laws made the difficult decision not to attend my daughter's wedding next month. It's a good decision, frankly,...

    Re: Last Post Wins

By the way, I'm not talking here. You remember that on June 5, 2019 (National Running Day), I tripped when going from a yard back to the road, and ruptured tendons in my thumb, dislocating it,...

    Last Post Wins

    Yikes.

4 days in a row of running, and think I will take today off. Or maybe do a short run or walk.
  15. Re: 2016 Walking, Exercise, Weight Loss Member Challenge Thread

Friday I packed clothes and ran at Lakeshore; Saturday I took Mick's advice and went through the woods/shaded part at the Spain Park Cross Country Course (that big hill is brutal; don't know how...

Greg died of Covid-19 last night.

    54. Leaves behind wife (she is also infected) and three children.

    Re: Carl Reiner RIP

I started with the good, nice heart-warming feeling of a story like that and turned into chuckling out loud at the end. Man, what a lineup.

Dan, I don't know of anything, but I did a quick...
  20. 2016 Walking, Exercise, Weight Loss Member Challenge Thread

They have it blocked off with tape but I think it would be fine to go. There's been so much rain lately it stays puddled for a while, but that's a great suggestion after it dries a little. I'll do...

    Re: SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine development update

Thanks--I'm all for good news these days, and that looks like some of the best I've seen.

I did not spend a great deal of time reading through it, and there was a lot of medical discussion that is...

    Carl Reiner RIP

@AshcanPress: I have a Carl Reiner story that I hold very dear to me. I figured I'd share it today, on the day of his passing, because I hope it will bring some other people some joy the way it does...
