  • Kentucky Softball Selected For 15th-Straight NCAA Championship

Wildcats have qualified for 15-straight NCAA Tournaments under Rachel Lawson

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Softball team was selected for its 15th-straight NCAA Tournament appearance Sunday night, as it received an at large bid into the field of 64, where it will compete in the 2024 Stillwater Regional hosted by Oklahoma State University, who earned the No. 5 overall national seed.

Kentucky finished the regular season with a 30-22 overall record, receiving an at large bid out of the Southeastern Conference. The Wildcats finished the year with 10 “quad 1” (RPI 1-25) wins, just one of 12 teams in the NCAA to have 10 or more wins in that category. The SEC got a tournament-high 13 NCAA bids, as every team received a spot in the field for the fourth time in the last five seasons, a new NCAA record.

The action for Kentucky kicks off Friday with the Wildcats facing the Michigan Wolverines at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Each regional is double-elimination with the winner of the Stillwater Regional advancing to face the winner of the Fayetteville Regional in the super regional round over Memorial Day Weekend for a spot in the 2024 Women’s College World Series.

Ticket information for the weekend will be announced later in the week by the host institutions, and that will be available at UKathletics.com when tickets go on sale.

Every game of the 2024 NCAA Softball Regionals will be broadcasted by the ESPN family of networks with games on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, ACC Network and ESPN+.
