  • A Kentucky fan perspective

With the Southeastern Conference Tournament set to start Wednesday night in Nashville even though Kentucky does not play until Friday afternoon, this seemed the perfect time to let UK fan Kindly Myers of Nashville share a few insights for fans.

Myers is a bartender/model. She was also an automated logistical specialist in the National Guard from 2007 until February of this year.

She was also featured on this year’s Kentucky Basketball Calendar, something she considered a “great honor” because of her love for UK and said “every year is a great year to be a Cats fan.”

Of course, this year has been even better for Myers and UK fans because the Cats are 31-0 going into Friday’s game against either Alabama or Florida.

Myers shared these thoughts going into the SEC Tournament.

Question: How many Kentucky fans are you expecting to jam into Nashville for the SEC Tournament?
Myers: :Hopefully all of them. Haha, just kidding, but there are always more Cats fans than any other team.”

Question: How difficult do you think it will be for fans to get tickets/find places to eat/find places to be entertained?
Myers: “It's Nashville, there are so many things to do. So many choices for dinner and entertainment. However, tickets may be hard to come by. I assume they will sell quickly.”

Question: Nashville hosts big events all the time, but what will be different when UK fans hit Music City?
Myers: “The city will be painted that beautiful shade of Kentucky blue. I love this time of year it makes me feel so at home. Cats fans have such great energy!”

Question: Is there a lot of anticipation about the tournament already in Nasvhille?
Myers: “Yes, I personally can't wait because I'm excited to see the Cats win another national championship.

Question: If fans come to Nashville and don't get a ticket to a game, where would be the best spots to join other UK fans to watch the game?
Myers: “I work at the world famous Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. There are plenty of TV’s on the third floor. Also Corner Pub Midtown is known to be a spot for Kentucky fans.”

Question: Any doubt in your mind who is going to win the SEC Tournament?
Myers: “Are you kidding? Go Cats. Pursuit of perfection.”
