Derek Abney best return man at UK, but

I don't want to pick on Derek, and maybe I read it wrong because it's early, but in his interview about the UL game with Larry Vaught, did Abney really say that he played in the 1st game of the series renewal? Abney's first season player would've been 2000, right? He was in middle school when the UL-UK series was renewed.

That is what he said, per Me Vaught................

“You knew it from the start. You were immersed in the fact it was more than just an in-state rivarly. Fans made sure you knew, but the upperclassmen also made sure you knew it was a game you had to win,” Abney said. “I played in the very first one, but even as a freshman playing in the first UK-Louisville game (when the series resumed) I knew how big it was.”

The series was renewed in 1994, IIRC, and Abney's first game, as a RS freshman at UK was in 2000.
