Oscars vs Turner classic movies
Turner has “The Longest Day” and “From Here to Eternity” while today’s Hollywood ignores Top Gun Maverick.
What a steaming pile the movie industry is.

I understand your sentiment, but folks here in Birmingham are very proud of a native son Daniel Scheinert who rose to prominence with his film Everything, Everywhere All at Once. We consider him a Hollywood outsider.

The actress and the supporting actor had interesting speeches (both from that movie)
. His “this is the american dream” was 180degrees from hollywood’s usual hate america first attitude.
Good point Mick

Re: Oscars vs Turner classic movies
The Oscars were this weekend? OK. Good to know. I'll google for the half naked actresses on the runway, that's the only part that still has any interest for me. I have no interest in modern Hollywood thanks to their focus on just about everything but entertaining people.
Then I'll go cue up a nice Cary Grant or John Wayne movie.Last edited by CitizenBBN; 03-15-2023 at 05:08 PM.
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.
