Campus: say the wrong thing, get fired. Do the wrong thing?

So the Alabama situation, student involved in the murder of a young mother, excused, even allowed to mock.

So the Texas Tech situation, coach says something “insensitive” and gets fired (not yet but soon.) (note: it was a Bible quote.)

And there ya have it. Words are worse than murder in 2023 campus america.

This is a frequent theme of mine on this political board. The state of campus America is that of stifled a d punished speech, throttled ideas, and a vindictive cancel culture supported at the highest levels of administrations. There are even Official Inquisitors to investigate and burn the incautious speakers.

Think of Riley Gaines and her outspoken trans insensitive comments about the unfairness of men competing in women’s sports. She had a better(worse) chance of being threatened and disciplined for her comments than the Bama kid for his role in a murder!

Such is the modern campus.

They are investigating a Harvard coach for saying, “too many chiefs and not enough indians.” She will likely lose her job, too.

My dear departed Mother was raised in Peoria Illinois and was always as far from a bigot as anyone could get, but as a child I remember her buying a type of cream filled chocolate candy and calling it by it's common and completely acceptable, for the time and area where she she was raised, name.

I can remember taking her on vacation , a few years before she passed, to her favorite place on earth and visiting a store that sold modern and vintage candies and her walking up to a barrel full of that candy and saying "oh my I have not seen any of those ................... in years. I had a talk with her after that to explain that we needed a new name for that candy.
