I contacted them about their recent deplatforming of NewsMax (and One America News last year).
The customer service representative advised me that DirecTV Streaming and Newsmax are in "negotiations" with regards to a return of Newsmax to DirecTV Streaming programming. When I inquired as to the "status" of these negotiations the rep told me that while these 'negotiations' are ongoing that no public information is available. This was the first time I have heard that there are negotiations happening. Does anyone here know anything about this?
First DirecTV Streaming deplatformed One America News, and now, as of 01-25-2023 they've deplatformed NewsMax. I don't see them deplatforming CNN or MSNBC or Fox News.
It sure is apparent that if you're a socialist news outlet that anything they do or say goes but if you're a conservative news outlet that censoring and deplatforming is the plan of the day and acceptable behavior towards paying clientele.
In the event that the customer service representative was telling the truth about these alleged negotiations, then I am content to take a "wait & see" attitude with regards to the outcome. I have been a DirecTV & AT&T customer for many, many years. I really don't want to change to another vendor.
But I will if necessary.
I don't like being censored in my personal preferences & choices by a vendor that I am paying to provide me with viable choices. That is not why I served as a Deputy Sheriff and a U.S Army veteran for so many years. I expect to have reasonable choices available to choose from. I don't give a damn about these socialist vermin and what they want to force on me. I want reasonable choices, and to be left alone in those choices.
Thanks for allowing me to vent.
