Yellowtone Supervolcano's Magma Uplift is rising faster than ever

Yellowstone Park officials have closed the park.

Bigsky, is there any local word on the current activity of the magma dome in the caldera?

Park is not closed. The north entrance (Gardiner to Mammoth) just opened yesterday after the flood washed out the previous route. I drove thru about a week ago and it was doggone beautiful.

I hing around Steamboat geyser till dukegirl got irritated and almost left without me. Was shooting up some big water but not an eruption.

Odds are against it blowing in our lifetimes, but if it does you can kiss this country all but goodbye. Unless we can find a use for a trillion tons of ash.

PS: I am in Houston at MD Anderson. The Treatment last year for my leukemia relapse worked, and I am in full remission.

Susceptible as heck to any random virus, not particularly responsive to vaccines (seems like a bad time for that…), but back to producing normal red and white blood cells and other critical blood components.
