Opening Day 2022 Dove Season

I usually post this every year, so why skip this year.

For the first time in 25-30 years I’ve been dove hunting, this year was the first time I did a sunrise shoot. In the past I have always shot noonish to early evening.

We were in the field at 6:30 this morning and as the sun came up the birds were flying thick. We all (9 hunters) limited out (15) within an hour and a half.

Action packed fun this morning…. It’s what’s for dinner.

Nothing like freshly harvested dove breasts wrapped in bacon and grilled.

Maters and silver queen corn fresh off the farm as well. Add icy cold sweet tea in my favorite UK glass, it doesn’t get much better.

Had a great opening day, but I had to cancel a couple of other opportunities due to a shoulder injury.

From all I heard the opening week was good, but a front moved them out earlier than usual.
