"I have made the very difficult decision to part with...."

"It was a difficult decision, but the time has come for us to sell..."

"We have made the tough choice to sell..."

"After much thought and prayer, we have decided to sell..."

I'm kinda looking, not really looking but sorta, at some Class B RVs for sale. It seems like every time I see one of them for sale with that prefaced, they're about 20% higher than any other similar RV.

I have sort of reached the point where if I see that, I just skip the ad and go on to the next one. If they're being honest, that it's a tough, emotional decision for them to sell, then they're not thinking in terms of fair market value for the sale, but they are artificially constructing a price to *their* emotional attachment. I'm not willing to pay for their emotional attachment.

It reminds me of the many potential clients who have wanted me to represent them on a contingency fee basis, and then tell me "it's not the money, it's the principle." When I ask them how much they'll pay me to represent their principles, it becomes the money lol.

The owner should do a little Photoshop of the RV and him, with a "Respect My Decision," kind of like when college athletes enter the transfer portal.

Like a boat, there are two very happy days in an RV owners life.

Thats the saying around these parts.

“Before I leave I’d like to see our politics begin to return to the purposes and practices that distinguish our history from the history of other nations,
“I would like to see us recover our sense that we are more alike than different. We are citizens of a republic made of shared ideals forged in a new world to replace the tribal enmities that tormented the old one. Even in times of political turmoil such as these, we share that awesome heritage and the responsibility to embrace it.”

People putting artificial values on things based on their emotional attachment is basically the story of my day. Every day. Some are realistic, some know they are being biased emotionally, and some just can't make that adjustment.

I will say for most of my clients it's not the money. They just want someone else to appreciate the thing as much as they or their family did, and they measure that in money. If it only is worth $10 they feel like it's not being appreciated.
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.
