WKRP is a great show, and he was great in it. Lots of other bit parts and was lead in Head of the Class as well, but IMO that role defines him.
The scene in the opening episode where they do the format change and he goes from barely awake coffee sipping guy just trying to keep his head down and be mellow to "Dr. Johnny Fever" is great. Defined the character so very well.
And he in fact was a DJ in the 60s, so perfect for the part.
