My new neighbor
I noted this a couple days ago
https://trendingpolitics.com/speaker...HOIY%3D.XhZFkN
Here is the listing
https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/4...ource=txtshare
I drive by the house every day on my way to work. I have agreed to stop at least once a week and take a s### by her front door so she feels at home, like she did in San Fran.
Pretty sad when you ruin your state and then have to move to one so much better. And in a bit of irony, she is about 25 miles from Trumps house. And not surprisingly, her house is in Martin County which is a significantly lower taxing County than Palm Beach. She is just north of the "tax line", likely to avoid paying her fair shareAging is an extraordinary process where you become the person you always should have been.--David Bowie.

Two things!
1 how in the hell can she afford a 25 mil mansion
2 what the hell is wrong with her state, California?

Re: My new neighbor
There should be a law or ordinance or something absolutely FORBIDDING anyone from Commiefornia from being allowed to buy property and actually live in Florida.
As I've stated here before, the CANCER of Liberalism/Communism/Socialism is spreading like the disease that it is!
And it/they intend to harm ALL OF US!Last edited by suncat05; 11-25-2021 at 09:38 AM. Reason: added thoughts

Re: My new neighbor
The property listing shows that the property contains a fireplace. That would seem to be a complete waste of brick and mortar. In 5 years it is predicted that Florida minimum temperatures will not drop below 76 degrees. I guess that the global warming forecasts could be wrong and the forecasts for a mini ice age could come true and the fireplace could see some use.

Considering this is a complete lie, hopefully the new owners will prosecute any poopers to the fullest extent of the law.

Id agree the devil is involved however. The father of lies at work seeking whom he may devour. It’s rampant in politics on both sides and we need to be aware we are all targets.

Re: My new neighbor
This never did make any sense.
Why would she spend her own money on a place when the people who she has helped through corrupt legislation will simply let her live in one? that's silly.
And fwiw, that's how it REALLY works, on both sides. The vast majority of them end up very wealthy when they retire from side investments that are basically insider trading, funneling campaign monies to family and friends who can then repay it once they are out of office, and the payoffs of lobbyists and industry groups, as well as loopholes to retain campaign war chests.
It's amazing how on $250K a year or so they all manage to retire millionaires despite the expenses of DC and the back and forth lifestyle of the job.
Pelosi has cashed in as well as anyone, esp. b/c of her Speakership. Open Secrets pegs her as being worth over $100 million.
https://www.opensecrets.org/personal...7360&year=2015
Even USA today fact check, which is notoriously liberally biased, admits that she is somewhere between minus $40 million and up $250 million (which shows just how absurd financial reporting requirements are for federal officials), figuring she's probably worth about $100 million.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...me/4707087001/
They call the claim she's worth $196 million "false" as a lead, but then conclude that on a salary that would otherwise barely cover the bills she's managed to accumulate $100 million in wealth. Not sure how that's really "false", b/c the claim was she's corrupt and has amassed huge wealth on a marginal salary, and the only way that happens is by being paid for access and legislative favors and insider dealing, so the basic claim is apparently very likeky true.
Same thing with the house. that report is false ,but don't let that distract from the truth of the real situation: she has made a hundred million dollars from a position supposedly of public service, and is the poster child for the "rich fat cats" who she says are so unfairly hoarding wealth in this country.
She IS the person she says is the blight on this nation. Rich, entitled, corrupt, definitely not paying "her fair share".
And fwiw so are most of the rest of the House and Senate. It's just that she claims to actually give a damn about the poor. Imagine what all that wealth could do to help the poor if she REALLY cared.People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

Re: My new neighbor
Also fwiw, there's a reason much of it is in real estate. that's a great way to move money around quasi-off the books for politicians. You can buy it for a certain price which is under market value, done b/c the person selling it to you is of course gifting you that extra value, and it shows up on financial filings for the lower purchase price.
it's also useful for politicians for insider trading. You know where the interstate is going to run ahead of others, so you work through some proxies to buy up the land early and cheap. that's happened in Kentucky multiple times in my lifetime, including when Toyota came to town.
it's a great scam. Of course you put it in a spouse's name so technically you aren't the person doing those deals, but since you're married it's obviously your wealth too.
So make no mistakes about it. it's the fact that a) Pelosi can afford such a place, and b) the fact that she will probably live that well upon retirement (and does now) regardless of the actual ownership of a given property, that is the affront to our nation and our system of government.
And she's so far from alone it's sickening.People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

Re: My new neighbor
She paid over market value. Zillion had estimated value of 22.5 million. She paid 25 million. Of course what is 2.5 million overpaying, considering her years in the gov't where overspending is the norm. In fact I would not "paying my fair share" IF the government took the effort to spend our tax money wisely.

Re: My new neighbor
So did Pelosi buy the mansion? USA Today and others have called it a complete fabrication and state the buyer had zero affiliation with Nancy Pelosi. As well as statements from the realtor and local newspaper.

Re: My new neighbor
Florida has a law on the books wherein certain groups of public officials (LEO's, Judges, state and federal prosecutors, politicians at all levels of government.......) can have their identities hidden from public view via the Property Appraiser's Offices, and other sources of public records for the protection of the property owners, their immediate family members, etc.
So we may not know exactly who the property actually belongs to, however.........usually where there's smoke, there's fire.
I use this due to the fact that I have been involved with sending criminal types to prison. They can come for me, but my family is off limits.Last edited by suncat05; 12-04-2021 at 10:32 AM. Reason: added thoughts

I still have a couple of friends in the Hobe Sound area, which is why I asked.
In my youth we used to snorkel/spearfish that worm rock reef off of Sailfish Point and would usually drift pretty far south, beach it and hike back north through the nudie beach to the inlet and swim back across.
