One step closer to accepting a Marxist economy.

We Want Them to Go Bankrupt

    Wall Street Journal

Biden’s nominee for Comptroller has an idea on climate change.

Omarova is a native of Russia and received her college education in that country

Saule Omarova continues to make the case against her nomination to be Comptroller of the Currency, as critics need only to quote her own words. The latest example is a video interview she gave in February in which the Cornell professor opined on “the case for a U.S. national investment authority.”

The conversation at one point turned to climate change and its impact on fossil-fuel producers, and Ms. Omarova was on the case. “A lot of the smaller players in that industry are going to, probably, go bankrupt in short order—at least, we want them to go bankrupt if we want to tackle climate change,” she said in the session that was part of the Jain Family Institute’s “Social Wealth Seminar” series.

She went on to say “that creates a lot of this sort of loss of jobs, a lot of displacement, and economic fallback that we cannot afford, really,” which is nice of her to concede. Bankruptcy isn’t painless, especially when the government drives you out of business.

But then she adds that the response would be to set up a National Capital Management Corporation that would “become a kind of equity investor at that point, taking over management of those companies and basically leading them through restructuring to a new technological basis and to a new technological business model.”

So first put private companies out of business “in short order,” then put government central planners to work to restructure them as the political class wants. Give Ms. Omarova credit for candor. Most progressives disguise their real intentions.

All of this matters because as Comptroller Ms. Omarova would have enormous authority to regulate banks. It’s clear from this interview that one of her policy ambitions is to deny capital to certain companies that she wants to go bankrupt. Senators will have to decide if they want the Comptroller to be a one-person systemic risk to the banking system.

It's stunning how far we've come in my lifetime to accepting pure socialism and communism in this country. Those 1950s movies warning us about Communist subversion don't look nearly so ridiculous now.
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

And yet we still allow it to happen, time and again, because few in D.C. have enough intestinal fortitude to call these people out for what they really are.

It happens b/c a percentage of this country wants it, and they convince a much larger percentage of the country to go in their direction while swearing they aren't going in that direction.

They prey on guilt and greed. Guilt of the middle class that thinks somehow they are supposed to feel bad for having roofs over their heads and food on the table when others don't, and greed of those who want to vote themselves free money and avoid work.

The border crisis isn't bad management. it's intentional. The increase in gas and oil prices was known by those on the Left who are now in charge, they knew it would happen and are fine with it b/c it suits their long term goals. Making America weak and our military more suitable to a church social than combat in an intentional plan to end our "imperialism" and ability to stand up to communism and socialism.

that sounds far-fetched but it's become pretty damned obvious. They knew the border would be overrun, and that was the goal, open borders. At the DNC for some years now they have pushed a demographic analysis that shows how the Democratic party can get complete national control and not lose any more elections, and it's by bringing in immigrants who vote in majority for them, focusing on indoctrinating kids and then just waiting for the conservatives in this country to die off.

That's documented, and with some time I can look up some of the names of people putting forth those studies.

You'll notice in none of them does it address what is best for the nation, or what it will do to the country to use big tech and "wokeness" to destroy free speech and assembly and expression. They don't seem to care nearly as much about those things as they do being in power and having final say over what we do and think.

After all, they are utterly convinced they know what is best for everyone, and they will make us do what is best for ourselves whether we like it or not, by force if necessary.

I feel like I'm living in a different nation, or a different planet. People with straight faces sincerely claiming there to be 32 "genders", or declaring we should regulate speech so people aren't offended, or any one of 100 other things.

Omarova withdraws name from consideration due to lack of congressional; support.

My thanks to; Montana Sen. Jon Tester, Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema and Virginia Sen. Mark Warner for their lack of support for Omarova's candidacy..
