Half of that 43% know Biden is a moron, but they can't admit it and be OK with voting for him.
Honestly Trump is no different in being an asshat, though I do know a lot of Trump voters who freely admit he's an ass. But some lie to themselves and say he's not so they can vote for him.
The thing is, Biden isn't the President. he wasn't a Senator, and he wasn't VP. He's a stuffed shirt front man for a committee of his handlers. In that respect he's not different from a number of Senators and Congressmen who just do pretty much what their career staff tell them to do, but very few of them become President.
As a Senator he wouldn't be all that unusual. As a POTUS it's bad bordering on disaster. As libertarian as our Founders were, after the Articles of Confederation they even admitted the nation needed a single person to be "The Leader". You can't lead if you are a rudderless stage prop.
Like I said, he's the love child of Chauncey Gardner and Walter Mitty. No idea what he's doing or that he's doing it, and prone to an endless list of absolute flights of fancy about his life. He was elected to office from a 1972 Senate campaign and didn't graduate from school until 1968, but somehow has been a truck driver, steel worker, rail splitter, astronaut and double knot spy along with 30 other jobs, depending on where he is speaking that day.
The truth is he's an idiot, was an idiot before he was older, and has never worked a real day in his life.

he was run by the party machine b/c he is likable and a good campaigner, and isn't too smart so he won't cause issues and can say really stupid things with great passion and sincerity. Perfect class President, and a perfect machine politician.
People think his 1988 brain surgery or his age is why he's so dumb. No, he was born that way. Was never a good student, plagiarized in college, and has had a stunningly unremarkable career even in politics.
He's a good politician, but knows as much about foreign policy and economics as a 6 year old.
And now he's older and clearly even less sharp, and more crotchety.
it's so bad his staff cuts off his mic when he starts to answer questions. Think about that. the PRESIDENT of the United States is incapable of answering media questions to such a degree his staff cuts off his own microphone or tells him to walk up, say something and not take questions.

If you can't tell, I'm SICK to death of our "leaders" being people who have never worked, never earned a living, and don't understand the first damned thing about running a business or working a factory line or actually having to ACCOMPLISH anything real.
They get ahead by blaming others and sounding good and pretending to care and convincing people they are one of them and on their side, but they never have to DO anything. Ever.
It's sickening. These people decide over our lives, and most are convinced they know better than us what is best for us, and are sure they can manage decisions better than the free market, and they are the most f***ing clueless bunch of losers in the entire country.
Biden, however, stands out as the quintessential example of a know-nothing, do-nothing career politician who has gotten ahead by the very fact that he's never done anything, so you can't pin anything on him.

Agree with CBBN, a huge chunk of Dems are going to claim Biden is doing great no matter how bad it gets, and it is pretty bad.
Because the media spin, media will never report that Biden owes taxes.

One of his dodges that I've only seen hints of is that he set up an S-corp to shield tax dollars.
So he's one of the evil "loopholes" he's talking about as being so bad, and is in fact a massive hypocrite who is not "paying his fair share", whatever the hell that means and whoever is supposed to pass moral judgment on such a thing.

I was listening to C-span yesterday when the house was questioning 3 military leaders about all things Afghanistan, and I was really surprised at how many of the representatives identified themselves as former and current members of the military.

It's a decent number.
Military service is a tougher one to measure. The range of jobs in the military is vast, and the range of people just as much. I know many veterans who are everything you would expect from the use of the word, but I know some who are without ethics or values. I think anyone who has served will agree there are some in the service who are real a-holes.
Democrats specifically recruited veterans to run in Congressional races in this last couple of elections, using that to try to win more pink areas of the country. It's effective b/c people think if you are a veteran you are likely to be more conservative and ethical.
Amy McGrath is a great example in Kentucky. She was run by the party b/c of her military service, but clearly she's not a stand up, honorable person. She distorted her military record, every veteran I know that knows about her does NOT like her at all, and she went to California etc. to raise money promising to basically be a solid blue liberal vote in a state that is deep red. that's not exactly the kind of behavior one things of when one thinks of a "veteran".
So it's a mixed bag. But it is actually responsible work, so in that sense it's like someone who ran a business. They could be a smart, capable, decent person or they could be a louse, but at least they have SOME experience with reality.
But most who are in Congress are career politicians. They went to college, probably to law school, got involved in politics and never looked back.
The movement to vote for Bernie and Trump are both Populist responses to that phenomenon, at least in part. That's what Populism is about, putting in more real-world, earthy people versus the polished but hollow politicians.
the irony is that with populism at such high pitch we elect the ultimate anti-populist, career stuffed shirt in Washington.

It will get worse I imagine, even though eventually Covid will nromalize and Biden will get a very undeserved bump as people just feel better about life.
But the economy will be a typical Obama-socialist "recovery", with the brakes still on, dragging it to a slow crawl. If they pass the massive welfare state in the "infrastructure" bill (you know, where literally everything is "infrastructure"), it will be even worse.
Free community college? Why get a full time job and work to make the money to pay that bill? You can work 2-3 days a week to cover the basics, and be a career student and get mom and dad off your back by telling them you're going to school.
That's just one of dozens of examples.
That and the divisiveness will get worse and worse as biden isn't really even in charge of anything, and those in charge of him are going to plow forward with no concern for keeping the Republic and Union in place. They simply don't care about things like rights or democracy, just about the ends of their goals.
Rule by simple majority, forcing whatever they believe on everyone else for their own good. Could anything be more dangerous? And unpopular to the moderate middle of this country?

I worked full time 3rd shift and some during the day working construction to get through community college.
I now work at a community college (for 2 more days at least), and yes, we have career students.

The Constitution doesn’t have any means of having a recall, just as it doesn’t have any means for fixing a presidential elected by fraud.
