    * Play KSR Hall of Fame Game Contest: Kentucky v Alabama *

    1. Predict the Kentucky margin of victory (+) OR loss (-). If you believe that Kentucky will lose, make sure that you make it clearly known with a -- [minus sign], or something else.

    2. Predict the game high scorer, AND the total number of points he will score in the game. NOTE--it does not have to be a Kentucky player for this KSR point.

    3. OVER/UNDER 38. Predict whether Kentucky's halftime score will be OVER 38, or UNDER 38, and by how many.

    4. Jackson 5. OK, guys. This one is as easy as ABC. Predict whether Isaiah Jackson's Points (Points) or Rebounds minus Blocks (Reb-blocks) will be closer to the number "5." Choose either POINTS or REB-BLOCKS as your answer. (He's averaging right at 6 points, and right at 7 rebounds minus 3 blocks, so this is a pretty fair comparison).

Tie Breaker: Kentucky 3-point field goal percentage.

Further explanation on the "Jackson 5." It's not as complicated as you think.

    You have two choices:

    "Points."

    or

    "Reb-Blocks."

If Isaiah Jackson scores 8 points, pulls down 8 rebounds, and has 2 blocked shots, the "correct" answer would be "Reb-Blocks," because his "Points" would be "8," and his "Reb-Blocks" would be 6.

    6 is closer to 5 than 8.

If Jackson scores 6 points, has 7 rebounds and 0 blocked shots, the "correct" answer would be "Points," because his "Points" would be 6, and his "Reb-Blocks" would be 7.

    6 is closer to 5 than 7.

You're just picking the one that will be closer to 5. My luck they'll tie.

Hey, it's halftime, so what better time to award the 3rd point?

Set the first half total at 38. Alabama went over that by 4, but we wanted Kentucky, and as you two said, Cats went under by 8.

Point awarded to each of you.

Nobody saw the 20-point beatdown coming, but at least two players saw Bama winning. First KSR point (I know, I'm awarding out of order) goes to these two gentlemen.

Petty with 24 led all scorers, and this was a nice job of picking the right player, from the correct team, and not a bad score prediction either. One point here.

I was right, neither was close. Jackson poured in 14 points, which was 9 off the "Jackson 5" number. He grabbed 6 rebounds, but had an amazing 7 blocked shots, for -1.

-1 is closer to 5 than 14 is (6 vs 9), so the correct answer is REB-BLOCKS. Points awarded to these players:

By my count, I show Harlow and Blueboss with 2 points each tying for the win.

Tiebreaker was 3-point FG percentage. Cats were a disappointing 4-18, 22.2%, and Harlow's 34% prediction nipped Blueboss 38.4% for the win.

Sorry, Blueboss...no Administrator's Decision this time! Congrats, Harlow!

Not so hard to swallow the loss of the KSR point verses the loss of the game... this years basketball team is like years past football teams. They give you a glimmer of hope, and you go all in, and Lucy shows up.
