It went great. You know a lot of the back story, but I honestly cannot imagine a happier bride and a more perfect wedding than what transpired.

My family gets sick of hearing me saying it, but I often tell them that things have a way of working out for the best. It truly did this time.

Thanks, Blueboss, appreciate those words.

He's pretty good with the Cats. He's a Pitt graduate, but he has become a Wildcat fan secondarily and roots for them with my daughter (a Bama and UAB grad, but Big Blue for sure). The biggest trade-off I made is one I can live with -- he's a huge Cubs fan. So I have ceded my St. Louis Cardinals' allegiance that my daughter should have inherited to him and his Cubs.

His Cubs' allegiance started with trips to Wrigley with his grandfather, and he has a tremendous amount of family love and tradition associated with it. I never indoctrinated my kids to my St. Louis Cardinals like my brother and I were growing up, so it was an easy switch for my daughter. She had cufflinks made for him from some seats or something from Wrigley field, shaped in the form of home plate. Anyway, that's their team--he loves baseball more than football or basketball, and I'll give him the Cubs in exchange for the Wildcats.

Sorry, fellow St. Louis Cardinals' fans. MLB hasn't meant that much to me over the past couple of decades anyway, although I won't be changing MY allegiance.
