    Well, I finally did it!

Yesterday I turned in my RETIREMENT notice to the Sheriff's Office.

I've had all of the fun that the PO-LICE can be legally allowed to have.

My wife and my kids are all entirely supportive of this, with all of them having wanted me to do this way before now.

And worry not brothers & sisters, I am still going to be here discussing whatever it is that we will be talking about.

Just wanted to share my joy with you all!
I slept so good last night. 😉

I hope the letter indicated that your retirement is effective immediately.

Best wishes for a long and productive retirement. Do your plans still include moving to the middle of nowhere in the Philippine Islands?

    Same here...congrats my friend.

Congratulations on a career for which I know you are proud. As, one who has moved on from a working career, you will need to adjust. Part time work, which I am sure you have probably considered, helps the adjustment. But, one thing I didn’t expect, you won’t need as much in life to make you happy. Get used to not having as much stress in your life. I constantly ask myself “Shouldn’t I be worried about something?”.

Goes without saying, but congratulations. I’m sure the people of the communities that you risked your life to serve and protect are grateful... nice work.

Re: Well, I finally did it!

Hi guys! Thank you ALL for your wonderful responses.
    TODAY it became OFFICIAL!
I am now RETIRED! I made it.
Time to turn the page and start the next chapter of my life.
I will likely be a "house husband" for a few months, while we are house hunting around the Titusville/Cocoa/Port St. John areas, as my wife works in Titusville for the county.
And I have possible future employment connections @ Patrick Air Force Base, the Kennedy Space Center, and Port Canaveral.
So the future looks good, with lots of potential possibilities.
I am NOT that guy who is going to sit in the lounger, watch TV and eat all day. I am going to do something to stay active and keep busy! 👍😉🏀🏈
