Thread: Home defense shotgun

    Home defense shotgun

Thanks, Keith. I have been contemplating The Judge for years, with the PDX-1 defense load. That's impressive, and the Hornady critical defense was also great.

I like the 3" barrel over the 2" barrel for what I'd use it for, though.

I thought you, Dan and KW would find the comparison interesting. I know all of you considered a .410 or have a .410. For close range defense the loads performed better than I expected, I didn’t expect the various projectiles to deform as much as they did. Deformed projectiles do a lot more damage, which makes the assailant more likely to be stopped.

I received an email from Palmetto State Armory on this Charles Daly 12gauge pump for $219.99. The only review on the site claimed that they received the wrong shotgun, however, so make sure you are buying the one you believe you are buying if you pull the trigger (pun intended).

    And here's a $139 12 gauge pump, 20 inch barrel.

No reviews, but I found it on another site with a lot of good reviews.

That’s identical to the Charles Daly 301 I have, except mine has a grey cerakote finish. A lot of these Turkish imports look alike, even when made in different factories.
