I'm not sure AOC even makes it to a general election. About a dozen people have announced to run against her as Democrats.

She really only won b/c the incumbent thought he was so safe he didn't bother to campaign and AOC's door to door type approach got some folks out to vote. The turnout was stunningly low b/c no one bothered to vote in the primary.

She got about 15K+ votes to 11Kish votes, in a district that then had 141K votes cast in the general election.

I'd run against her there just on her skunking the Amazon deal alone. Of course she's now got the name recognition, but it's not at all clear she's found a sudden bed of radical socialism in the Bronx and Queens compared to the more traditional Democratic base.

I don't know if her district is a plurality or a runoff though, so having a dozen people and her could give it to her just b/c of the numbers.

As for the rest of the country I think the Democrats have done themselves no favors in marketing the House the last 2 years, just as the GOP didn't do a good job Trump's first 2 years. Funny how both parties get in DC and start naval gazing instead of thinking about what the broader electorate may want.
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

And FWIW the rest of the squad are all going to face strong challenges too. Tlaib is going to face a potentially very tough GOP challenger who is a Muslim woman and Iraqi refugee, so there are no race/gender cards to play in that one.
