Really has little to do with economics or housing. Some sure, but the vast majority of the issue is about drugs and mental health.

I've served on the Board for many years of a Homeless Program in San Diego County and its amazing how few people know this.

Yes, there are all types of homeless. But a huge majority are mentally ill, addicted to drugs or both.

Anyone who has really dealt with it knows the truth. Yes there are some who are 'down on their luck' and some due to housing costs, etc., but the vast majority is mental illness and drugs, and most of that are in fact a combination of both.
