Rip Torn died yesterday
If you were to ask me what he'd done specifically as an actor I couldn't tell you but his name always stood out. He had been around quite a while.

First became aware of him from Down Periscope, of all movies, but then I went back and watched The Cincinnati Kid and realized he was in that, too. He was in a lot of stuff I never saw but apparently had a great Hollywood reputation as a great character actor--and character. RIP.
