Was close to the plate.....AFTER it hit the photographer.
Aging is an extraordinary process where you become the person you always should have been.--David Bowie.
Couple of tidbits...I had to find out a little more about who that was, etc. It was a name-withheld, White Sox employee of the month honoree--name not divulged to save her further embarrassment. You could dig and find it if you wanted--I think her daughter tweeted on Twitter, too and identified her mom--but I just wanted to see if it was a celebrity of some sort.
Also, the photographer got his photos in, even though he didn't see the ball coming lol. A close-up of her hand shows part of the problem--she was throwing a change-up, cupping the ball in the palm of her hand rather than throwing a two-finger or three-finger fastball. I don't know why she would choose that platform to exhibit her wide variety of pitches, but she did. So I give her more credit. I understand she was considering a circle change, a knuckleball, or a slider, and went with the straight change instead. Kudos!
Several powerful donor groups have asked me to run for President. I have declined because eventually I'd be asked to throw out the first pitch at a baseball came and while it might not be quite that bad, it would be pretty bad.
