    America's most liveable city is...

Boise, Idaho, according to this article.

    The top 20:

    1. Boise, Idaho
    2. Raleigh, North Carolina
    3. Madison, Wisconsin
    4. Iowa City, Iowa
    5. Rochester, Minnesota
    6. Columbia, Missouri
    7. Sioux Falls, South Dakota
    8. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
    9. Lincoln, Nebraska
    10. Greenville, South Carolina
    11. Fargo, North Dakota
    12. Tampa, Florida
    13. Minneapolis, Minnesota
    14. Asheville, North Carolina
    15. Bismarck, North Dakota
    16. Manhattan, Kansas
    17. Orlando, Florida
    18. Tempe, Arizona
    19. Bloomington, Indiana
    20. Omaha, Nebraska

I look at that list and think: too cold. I'm not sure how liveable Fargo, for example, would be in January.

Not sure how Orlando made that list either. Daily Traffic snarls should preclude that place from a list such as this one.

I'm sure it's based on a number of statistics that all would go out the window if they actually went to most of those cities, esp. in January.

I've been to Madison. Nice town, very liberal, and OK for a college town, but honestly Lexington has far more going on. It's pretty small, not a sleepy college town but a pretty small one overall, and it's nice in the spring and summer but tough otherwise.

Same for Boise, etc. Not bad places, but living through their winters is tough. Lincoln Nebraska?

Looks like their criteria with a few exceptions selected for your smaller towns in the 250K range. IN fact I googled and Boise, Madison and Lincoln are all about 250-275K. I'm betting Tempe, Omaha, etc. are all in that range.

So their sample looked for things that those size towns typically offer, which is usually a lower crime rate, lower commutes and housing prices, etc. but also fewer things going on, etc.

Which is fine, unless you like other things, like not freezing your butt off.
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.
