    New York

Heading to New York, staying at the Westin in Central Park, going to see Phantom of the Opra.
That was a Christmas gift to my fiancé.
Really looking forward to the trip.
Have been in Fremont and Los Angeles all week and heading to New York for the weekend.

New York is a beautiful state if one stays out of NYC. Sorry you did not get the memo in time. ;-)

Wonderful trip and I'm jealous, having never been. Phantom is a great musical to see there as well. Great trip.

If you have time there’s also the Met. Another cool thing we did when we were in NYC was tour the Fed—gold!

    Re: New York

One of the best purchase you can make is the city pass (https://www.citypass.com/new-york?mv...E&gclsrc=aw.ds). It gets you into the big tourist attractions and you bypass the lines on most. For example, the Empire State building. The ticket line could be hours but with the pass you don't have to wait as you already have the ticket. You jump the line. Its akin to the "Fast Pass" at a theme park. Plus its less than the attraction. Cost is about $130 but the empire state is $35 alone. The 911 memorial is another $25. Add Rock center, radio city...etc and its way cheaper. There are several options as well. Check into some of the others. One has a MSG tour in it (we did it and enjoyed). WTC and 911 is an absolute MUST.

Something like 10,000 bars in New York, and you guys are going to places with $35 cover charges and no booze on the other side. Wow.

Don’t overlook going to Lombardi’s in Little Italy for Pizza. Favorite thing to do is walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. If not that, take a walk on the High Line. Both walks provide great views of the City.

    Re: New York

Flight from LA could not land in Chicago because of visibility, had to detour to Omaha and fuel, made it to Chicago and flight to Louisville was canceled. Next flight is not until 9:30. Was a bit worried I would miss my trip to New York tomorrow or have to fly from Chicago.

Any big blue fans stuck at the Chicago airport like me, be cool to have a drink and pass time.

Around town? Subway and buses. We always use them. Never cab or uber...alway use subway. Is easy and reliable. Get a 3, 5 or 7 days pass. Do the same in Chicago, Atlanta etc...We seldom bus though. just don't at night. Then uber or cab. Daytime is plenty safe.
