Birmingham lost a police officer last night in line of duty
Sad news I found out this morning. His son attends my son's high school. Was a band member there. He is a freshman. We didn't know him, as my son is a senior and not in the band.
The officer was an active band parent volunteer. He would often go straight from duty to a band event to volunteer.
The man epitomized service to others.
Rest in peace.
