Robellini palm thorns...ouch
Six weeks ago I was out mowing the yard in our new house. Bumped into one of the palm trees and got stuck with a thorn in my left index finger. Burned like hell but didn't think anything about it. Over the next week or so it swelled. I figured their was a foreign body in there and was waiting for it to abcess and drain. Didn't happen. Swelling continued and it got painful especially when hit just right, then it felt like somebody was sticking a needle into my bone. Finally Monday I went to the Dr who sent me to the orthopod...ultrasound showed a foreign body in there. So today I went in for surgery, no bid deal as it was just a local and dig it out. Well turned out to be a 1 inch long thorn embedded in the tendon. Sumabitch!

You are going to cut the thing down right?
“Before I leave I’d like to see our politics begin to return to the purposes and practices that distinguish our history from the history of other nations,
“I would like to see us recover our sense that we are more alike than different. We are citizens of a republic made of shared ideals forged in a new world to replace the tribal enmities that tormented the old one. Even in times of political turmoil such as these, we share that awesome heritage and the responsibility to embrace it.”

What kind of idiot plants that in their yard? I can see it being planted as a security fence, but no other reason comes to mind.

People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.
