Nothing across for Kentucky in the top of the first.

I'm casting WatchESPN, but I think the game is on ESPN News while waiting for Alabama v Washington to finish.

Kentucky v Oregon, Game 3: For trip to Omaha

Rethlake hits the first Oregon batter in the face guard on the first pitch. Not a good start.

Oregon is pitching the same picture that shut down Kentucky last night, a good move. Hopefully we can figure her out today though.

Sacrifice bunt is successful, and then Rethlake gets ahead of the number three batter one and two with two excellent changeups. Count moves full, however, she gets her on a short fly ball behind second base for the second out. Umpire is squeezing the played a little on Rethlake. Just need to make sure to keep that consistent next inning.

There's a walk, and two on, two out. Rethlake is really struggling with her control, but gets a sharp groundout to end the inning.

Martens leads off with a hit up the middle.

Hinz takes low I guess, but not sure where it missed. Bunt grabbed by the 3rd baseman and nails runner at 2nd, wasted out.

0-2 pitch excellent, but this umpire really squeezing it. He is consistent. Now strike 3 and Kentucky in danger of wasting a leadoff hit.

I'll wait between innings, but Alabama has been eliminated by Washington, so game must be back on ESPN now.

Metzger is HBP and now two on, two outs.

Bailey Vick up. Bounced to pitcher and innings ends.

Home run to lead off the inning and Ducks draw first blood.

    4-pitch walk follows.

Five straight balls, then SAC bunt works.

    Another walk.

Behind again, 2 and 1. She's not missing by much on a lot of them, but this is a very tight strike zone.

    Base hit scores another run.

2-0 Oregon. Kentucky cannot afford to give up much the way this girl is pitching for Oregon.

Baalman will relieve Rethlake with runners on the corners and one out.

    It's over.
Cool as a rule, but sometimes bad is bad.

    Runner steals 2nd.

    3-0.

    3-1.

    3-2.

Kentucky bungles a ground ball to 3rd. Had the runner at 3rd hung up. She slides back safely as the runner on 2nd slides into 3rd. All you have to do is tag both. Instead we act like we are dazed, make no throw back to 2nd and could have easily gotten her out at second, but didn't. Now I Grand Slam home run, and Kentucky trails 6-0 and this game is very likely over.

    Good season, Wildcats.

UK's softball and baseball teams have an obvious similarity. Lack of quality pitching has doomed them both this season.

9-0 Oregon. Still in the third, but remember that an 8 run lead after five innings is a run-rule elimination.

    Now 10-0.

Cats will have only one more at bat, and will need at least two runs to extend the game (if Oregon doesn't score).
