RIP David Edward Foley, Bishop Emeritus of Birmingham

Bishop Foley was age 88, died last night, as did Mrs. Bush. A very kind and humble man; had a loving heart for sure. Had the great honor of meeting him many times for events in my children's lives. If I am guessing, Mickintheham probably knew him well, as did his children.

He had a handwritten letter published in church bulletins this past weekend. Amazing to me that he was thinking of others until he passed. And I wish I had his handwriting!

I loved Bishop Foley. I used to attend Mass at the Cathedral. He had a presence and compassion matched by none. He served as an example of how good we all could be. Very sad news.
