Hey folks, just wanted to thank you for your well wishes & prayers-they really mean a lot.

The accident happened 2 weeks ago today. They basically had to reconstruct my pelvis & the left hip socket. I'm at Frazier Rehab here in Louisville, which is an amazing facility full of sadists--um, I mean therapists who really push you to get better & I'm blessed to have them helping me. Lord willing I'll progress enough to go home in 2-3 weeks & continue my therapy on an outpatient basis.

Again, thank you for your kindness. It's a real blessing to me.
All I did was stand up to a long laundry list of people who passed away today who couldn't stand up because what was done was wrong.--RP, 8/26/09

Best wishes - speedy recovery - reminder to take each day at a time and there is a time for everything. Proverbs 3:7, a time to tear and a time to mend.

Re: Thoughts and prayers for KSRBEvans

Hey y'all, thanks for the continued concerns & prayers. They mean more than you can know.

After 7 weeks & 4 minor & major "procedures," I'm still not home--the most recent challenge was an infection & 2 procedures to remove about a gallon of liquid and clean out the area & start IV antibiotics. But I'm blessed with great nurses, surgeons, aides and therapists & the finish line (at least for this leg of the race) is in sight. Once home I'll continue rehab on an outpatient basis as my injuries continue to heal and I eventually return to pre-accident health, Lord willing. Please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers.

Re: Thoughts and prayers for KSRBEvans

He had this message 4 days ago, Flounder....

Hey y'all, wanted to let you know that I'm still out here & progressing. I've been home for about 3 weeks and I'm doing outpatient physical therapy twice/week. Surgeon says my fractures continue to heal on schedule, which puts me about 4-6 weeks from them being 100% healed. I can start putting some weight on my bad (left) side and that opens up more physical therapy options, which the therapists are exploiting to my great pain and progress. (Seriously, I try to keep Coach Cal's mantra of "another day to get better" in mind, and I'm thankful for my therapists who help me in that mission.)

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, and please keep them coming. I'm starting to feel more normal and not a bunch of broken bones, and I hope to jump on the boards soon.
