Wish him well. Will never know if another year in college would greatly elevate his game. For some reason doubt he would be a starter for us this coming season.

I never felt he was fully committed to playing at UK, or any college for that matter. I wish him nothing but the best though. It does help our crowded situation at the guard spot

After reading Cal's statement I got the feeling that Cal suggested he return.

I honestly thought he had made this announcement a week ago. As Doc notes, he never seemed committed to playing college basketball until maybe the last few weeks. I do believe he could *really* help himself by coming back, but to each their own. I wish him the best but i'm not terribly optimistic we will be seeing him in the Association anytime soon.

Probably true, and an interesting take. He will find a league of highly self motivated and competitive men who are as athletic as he is and most have far more basketball skills. All of whom are also trying to get to the NBA.

Had he stayed, and did what Cal told him, he’d be a fan favorite and he’d develop a basetball identity particular to his abilities, that would shown scouts his place on an NBA team.

And he would have been exposed in the D (or G) league. Of course he would have some change in his pocket and the "exposing" would have been done while being paid...and some would suggest that deficiencies can be corrected in the developmental league.

There are a lot of kids being mentioned as playing in the G League, but even the G League has a limited number of available roster spots each year.

Yes he would have been in G league too, but as you stated, he would have guaranteed money in his pocket.

Diallo may have gotten a first round guarantee.

Looking at it, is getting that money and maybe the only money he gets from the nba more valaubake than staying and positioning himself to a longer career?

    Hard to say.
