Pretty Interesting Article on Cal's Players at UK

This looks more at the guys who have not been Wall, Cousins, Davis, etc. What really shows through is how much each of them loved their time at UK.

The article also cries out, don’t leave early. Stay, enjoy the process, and get better so your odds of keeping an NBA contract increase. If the NBA doesn’t work out you’ve got the sheep skin.

It’s really kind of the sad side of one and done players...

I thought it was interesting they threw Wiltjer in there. He didn't go pro after a year--he transferred after 2 and ended up staying in college 5 years, counting the redshirt year. Also seems to be having the best time and is in the best situation from a foreign-league perspective.
All I did was stand up to a long laundry list of people who passed away today who couldn't stand up because what was done was wrong.--RP, 8/26/09

I’d just print that out and push it across the desk and watch them read it.

That is a great point. I've always wondered why Cal doesn't have these guys come back and tell their stories. Sure, you want AD, Wall, KAT, etc hanging around, but if he is truly "Players First" he owes it to the players to present both sides.

Agree. Also though it was interesting that he stated his time at UK was the best of his career. I really wish he would have stayed.

He needs to get them all together and have them read it out loud while he sips tea.

To me, it bespeaks - again - the idiocy of drafting on 'potential'.

The money spent on Orton, Teague, and Goodwin was just poured down the sink. Mind you, I'm delighted for the kids - glad to see any kentucky kid do well. But if I were an NBA owner, the GM's and scouts who did this would be walking the pavement.

haha yes that's the exact image I had. "How does this verse relate and apply to your personal life?" ..."Coach, I feel this speaks directly to my situation, like God is telling me I need to stay in school."..."Yes, Jarred, that's how I'm interpreting that verse as well."
