A Great site for wallpapers and backgrounds!

With the Apple-->Android thread, I thought I would discuss wallpapers and backgrounds. Pretty much everyone knows about DeviantArt but my biggest problem with that site is that you have to sort through loads of fluff to get to the good stuff. That and its a bit of a pain as its more of an artists site than dedicated to wallpapers and backgrounds.

For a few years now my favorite has been this one:

I love this site. The quality of the images are pretty much universally incredible. You will find very few blurry or bad images on here. Plus, my favorite feature is that they support pretty much EVERY resolution under the sun. You have an iPhone 5? Select it from the drop down below the image. Have an android tablet, select it. Have a PC with a 1440x900 monitor, just select it and download.

Note: None of the above are the largest size image. On the contrary I just selected one of the smallest sizes that still kept the structure of the image.

wallbase.cc is a really good site. Make sure you keep your content filter on SFW (it's set to that by default), unless of course that's what you want. Lots and lots of wallpapers there.

I checked out that app, but it required permission for "hardware controls" which apparently means that the app can use my camera at any time without my permission. That seemed creepy to me.

Sometimes that can be if you want to upload pictures. That being said, good that you check the permissions. I have not used that app and prefer to find my wallpapers myself.


@Badrose - Not all of us have a bevy of willing models at our disposal. Let alone the ability, equipment etc. Plus a lot of your pics are not exactly work safe. This site tends to not do portraits, they tend to focus more on landscapes and the abstract which is something I am more drawn to for backgrounds.

Here's a link to a website that covers just about all types of photography but I've got it set on landscape. There's a lot to browse through. Just save the ones you like to your computer and crop it to fit your screen.
