Yeah. He was much better to start the season.
An epic fail by both him and KP to this point.

I totally agree, I’ve never seen a dude that long and athletic that not only doesn’t block shots but doesn’t even alter them.

Agree that Bamba was a huge miss but think we’re being far too hard on Richards. Product of the Cal era of frosh superstars and a very spoiled fan base. Sometimes find myself doing it, too. I remember Magloire as a frosh mid season in Rupp turn around from point-blank range and throw it over the backboard. Without contact. Richards is more of a normal freshman. Going to need time. Has a nice touch. Shows flashes of excellent post moves, both feet and hands. Capable of being a good free throw shooter. Weakest on defensive switches and help defense. Needs to work on base to shore up defensive glass.

This applies to most everyone in the paint although Wenyen and PJ are much improved, but just keeping your hands up on D would be a major improvement. I know Cal continually harps on “high hands” do I know seeing their hands below their waist has to drive him nuts. Those 14-foot wingspans don’t do much good with hands down.

The rebounding bugs me and it’s not just Richards. For a team this tall to rebound as badly as they do is just sad.
Don't panic

Richards production is no surprise to me at all. I was pretty sure this is what we would get.

Fire KP, can't get it done, all his failure. Well, let's rip an asst instead of Cal for a change
(edited for attack on a poster)
I look at the difference in Gabriel and Jones from last year...two players many here said would never get off the bench...and the improvement by PJ so far and I will say Kenny is underpaid. If the DC at LSU is worth $2.5 million, how much is Kenny worth?
Nick will be a different player in MarchLast edited by CitizenBBN; 01-14-2018 at 11:55 AM.

I agree that KP is doing a great job, but I'm not so sure about the other assistants. I think Cal may be looking for replacements after this season for at least one of them.Last edited by CitizenBBN; 01-14-2018 at 11:56 AM.

Just for the record, I have been a champion of Kenny’s here more so than anyone. I have maintained that he must be the top candidate to replace Cal when he retires.
Anyone who contributes to our conversations here Knows that.

KP is great. I miss Strickland’s PG tutelage and NBA cred.

Strickland was only here a brief time
Guys like Andrew Harrison, Tyler Zulus and De’Aron Fox all did well with the current staff. I don’t know if Strickland makes a huge difference

He is not currently a superstar, but I am not sure his stats warrant such criticism

When the LSU center put up crazy numbers and scored at will that was telling.
