Cheat Sheet: Who are Baby Boomers, Millenials, Etc.?

Found this on a Social Marketing Page. I know that they vary/differ, but I thought this was a good cheat sheet for some of us who constantly forget who is who (I am raising my hand.)

The Depression Era: Born 1912-1921. Today's Age: 96-105

World War II: Born 1922 to 1927. Today's Age: 90-95

Post-War Cohort: Born 1928-1945. Today's Age: 72-89

Baby Boomers: Born 1946-1954. Today's Age: 63-71

Boomers II or Generation Jones: Born 1955-1965. Today's Age: 52-62

Generation X: Born 1966-1976. Today's Age: 41-51

Generation Y, Echo Boomers or Milleniums: Born 1977-1994. Today's Age: 23-40

Generation Z: Born 1995-2012. Today's Age: 5-22

Typically, millennials do not extend into the 70s. I was born in 1981 and for most studying generations I am right on the edge (most say 1980 or 82) and for good reason. I share many traits with Gen X and with Millennials. The main things are I had a computer at a very very young age (2nd grade) but didn't have a cell phone my whole life. When you look at how I interact with technology it is very very different from any colleagues who are even a coupl years older than me. Also, the cheatsheet you linked to seems to bias millennials towards the traits of the Z-linnelial end group versus millennials as a whole. Many of the traits they list only apply towards the end portion (1992-1994 birth year). I fully expect the latter boundary to shift a bit as Generation Z is better understood.

They are calling us late 70s - early 80s Xennials now. A "micro" generation b/c we don't fit in with X or Y.

I had always thought I was at the tail end of the baby boom with 1961 but read something recently that placed me with Gen X. Now this says something else. I always thought generations were set at 18 years?

This chart puts Obama in with Gen X even though he was also born in 1961?
