Wine Country Fires
Friends this is bad. Newest reports are;
16 people killed,
3500 structures/business destroyed,
560 reported missing (Believe that # will go down once people are able to check in)
115,000 acres burned so far. That's about 4.5 x the size of Disney World.
About 10-15 miles away from us.
We're still safe. Love all y'all.

Re: Wine Country Fires
Hang in there Coastie! Wildfires may be the worst of all natural disasters. Very frightening.

Re: Wine Country Fires
Essentially yes. I was up on the fireline last night with a fire crew. this one particularly had a 12 hour break from Sunday night to last night. They had NO idea it had become national news. They were asking all sorts of questions, they'd been out of touch the entire week. Fires are closer to Sonoma, which is closer to me. Luckily all the farmers around town have pretty much cleared their fields, so therie isnt a lot of "energy" for it to get to us, unless those embers start flying again.

The embers and the winds are the scariest part of all.
