    What is the "Dark Web"?

And should I be concerned that Experian found my email address on it once? I regularly update my password and have two-factor authentication.

The Dark web is the world where the hackers and thieves and other miscreants interact, share info, techniques, etc. The thing is just going there is a bit like going to a similar place in the real world, you're likely to get mugged just by showing up.

Lots and lots of our data is there now, and it's a matter of time before it's all there.
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

Experian found mine six times. I only remember putting it there four times.

The darkweb is a collection of websites/networks that exist on special network systems with anonymity in mind. The largest one is called Tor, but it is far from the only one. Tor was actually developed by US Navy as a system to allow dissidents in politically oppressive countries to browse the rest of the web and to spread the truth. Turns out it is useful for anyone who wants to do things which are against any government.

Now, it's pretty much this strange part of world that is essentially a cyberpunk red-light district. Anything illegal that can be done online is there. Drug sales, hacking, weapon sales, child porn, etc. If your email address is there, is likely in relation to a particular dataleak. I use haveibeenpwned.com to keep an eye on these.

If you change your passwords regularly, don't share passwords between sites, and use 2FA, then you are about as safe as you can get. No system is ever perfect but you are doing well.
